"Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus spent a record-breaking 19 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019 β the longest reign in chart history at the time. What started as a $30 beat purchased from a Dutch producer and uploaded to SoundCloud became a cultural phenomenon after going viral on TikTok's #YeehawChallenge. The genre-bending country-trap hit was initially removed from Billboard's country chart, sparking a massive controversy that only fueled its virality. Billy Ray Cyrus' remix transformed it into a cross-generational anthem.
